Learning Japanese through Kanji

"Learning Japanese through Kanji" is a series of Japanese text for intermediate and advanced Japanese learners.

Studying Kanji is generally considered difficult for Japanese learners at any level, because there are literally thousands of Kanji and they have complicated shape and usages in general. But studying Kanji is inevitable to master Japanese since Kanji is so profoundly integrated into the Japanese language. Knowledge of Kanji is necessary not only to read and write Japanese but also to enrich vocabulary used in listening and speaking.

This series, "Learning Japanese through Kanji", focuses on a single Kanji in each page, and describes such things like its origin it was born, the history how its meanings have evolved, how it is used in modern Japanese, and contrasts with related Kanjis. It is expected that readers will be able to broaden the base for learning Japanese and for understanding Japanese culture by studying the articles in this series.
