At the annual AJALT gathering held on Nov. 3, 2007, a concert was given by a guest duo, Uranus, consisting of a 25-string koto player and a shakuhachi player. The duo performed some pieces of music including gAve Mariah and gAkatonboh or gRed Dragonflyh which is a popular Japanese song. The two players then invited courageous people to come up to the stage to practice the instruments.
After the concert, the participants enjoyed chatting, experiencing shodoo or Japanese calligraphy, and playing igo or Japanese checkerboard game and shoogi or Japanese chess. The accompanied children also enjoyed origami, the art of folding colorful paper into figures, and animation films.
