About AJALT Association for Japanese-Language Teaching
Originally founded in 1970, AJALT is one of the oldest Japanese language teaching institutions in Japan. It was recognized by the Ministry of Education in 1977. AJALT is involved in a wide range of language-related projects. These include teaching Japanese to refugees and to technical trainees from Asia, training language instructors for ODA programs overseas, promoting the exchange of ideas about Japanese language teaching through an annual symposium and magazine, and developing language teaching materials.

They take a rigorous in house training course upon entering AJALT, and regular refresher courses ensure that they are always up-to-date with the newest teaching methods. Effective Programs for Expatriates and their Family
AJALT instructors will analyze the type of program a student needs and develop a customize program. Many of the AJALT instructors have background in the business and academic world and have helped students from diverse professional backgrounds. AJALT has also been helping the members of expatriate families get accustomed to life in Japan by offering course on real-life Japanese. AJALT offers programs for diplomatic professionals, employee, young people, International students and industrial trainees. Students can choose lessons from an extensive array of ongoing group lessons or opt for private lessons.
